Ail Words Four in a Row
Directions for Playing the Game
1. Print off cards onto card stock, laminate or place into sheet protectors for durability. Sheet protectors work well because you can put the gameboards in a 3-ring binder. I have one binder for reading games and one binder for math games.
2. This game works best if it is played with two to three players. Much more than that, it gets too crowded and messy.
3. Players need a six-sided dice with either dots or numbers 1-6. They also need different colored tokens or a different color dry erase marker to mark their square. Give each student a washcloth to wipe off their boards when finished with a game.
4. Place game board on table or playing surface. Players roll the dice to see who goes first. The player with the highest number goes first.
5. Play begins by the first player rolling the dice. They then choose a word from the corresponding column. They read the word out loud. You can also add a feature that they use the word in a complete sentence if you wish.
6. Play continues until one player gets four squares in a row either across, down or diagonally. The first player to get four in a row is the winner.
